This is a cake we did last month. We recently heard back from the customer and was delighted to hear their response!

Long Island Barn and Animals Cake

Long Island Barn and Animals Cake

Just wanted to send you a note to tell you the cake was more then I ever imagined it would be!! I couldn’t believe how much it looked like the actual Barn in our yard. My partner Chris was beside himself when he saw the cake. Guests in the restaurant were coming in asking all about the cake and who made it. Of course I gave them all information and hope you see some new clients. Again I can’t tell you how pleased I was with the Fabulous Job you and your staff did!!
Not only did it look amazing….the cake it self…to die for!!!!

Chuck I’m glad you liked and it was a pleasure making it for you!

Here’s a few more shots of the cake:

Allison is a long time customer of ours, and called recently looking for a cake for her daughter’s fourth birthday.  They were celebrating the birthday in the popular Build-A-Bear Workshop in NYC. The client wanted the perfect accompaniment to the location, and thought that a teddy bear dressed in a cute dress would be perfect. She was right!

The cake came our gorgeous and super cute. We wanted to make sure that even though the cake was covered in fondant, that it had the same “plush” fabric effect, and a pearlescent look to the princess dress. Topping off the cake is a tiara on little teddy’s head.

Here’s another shot of the teddy bear cake.

We had quite a few Halloween cakes this week, and we thought we’d share some of them with you.

Halloween 2nd Birthday Cake

Halloween 2nd Birthday Cake

We’re especially proud of this Halloween cake–it is a two tier cake covered in two shades of orange, adorned with a giant pumpkin topper. Since this was a two year old’s birthday cake, we decided to go with cute ghosts and a Halloween trick-or-treat basket, to name a few of the elements.

The cake was picked up from our Long Island location.

Here’s another Halloween cake that was really a first birthday cake. The cake is a pumpkin covered in fondant with a giant witch’s hat on top. As this was a first birthday, we decided to keep the pumpkin more cute than scary. Lime green accents complete the cake.

The next two cakes are somewhat Halloween themed, as well as fall October themed. One cake is adorned with red, orange and yellow hued leaves.  The other with similar colored daisies.

This cake was for a first birthday cake for Elle, who apparently loved german shepherd puppies…how cute!  The cake itself was pink and decorated in white paw prints and little silver “dragees” (which are basically edible silver pearls).   The dog itself was made of cereal treats.  The puppy also has a pink bow on her collar.  The client’s colors were baby pink, white and silver.

Another requirement for the cake was that it must be organic!  The cake was a vanilla cake with a raspberry filling.  The cake was delivered to Half Moon in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

The client came to us requesting a safari themed cake for a girl, and one to match the tableware that they had for their party.  For a girly cake, we made the safari cake pink, but still kept the polka dots on the cake colorful.  The animals were inspired by the napkin that the client provided, and they came out so cute!  We included a lion, monkey, giraffe and elephant with rosy cheeks.

Ahhh…this week is filled with car cakes!!  This one is the new (and already classic?) 2010 Camaro.  The cake has the yellow finish and black racing stripes reminiscent of the Transformers movie.

Here’s a cake we made for the top of a cupcake tree.  The client wanted the feel of Alice in Wonderland, but in a tiny package.  The table with food was important, as was the chair tipped over.

The cake was a devil’s food chocolate cake with a mocha meringue buttercream.

Another wedding cake this week; this one is a three tiered cake with quilted pattern on the fondant.  In each intersection of the quilt is a gold dragee (sugar bead).  Above each tier are rows of red sugar roses.  I really do think the red and gold accents on this cake give it a rich and luxurious feel, without being gaudy and overdone.

The objective for this cake was to create a cake suitable for a 40th birthday for a woman, that was both dark and gothic, yet sophisticated and elegant.  We came up with this cake that was topsy turvy (tops of the cakes tilted) and had a light “Tim Burtonesque” feel to it.  Colors for the cake were described to us as “muted autumn colors”.  The topper was an edible scorpion.  The cake was finished off with a spray of edible gold luster to add a bit of sparkle.

Here’s another car cake we recently made for a birthday.  This cake was a red Cadillac Eldorado with a white soft top and white walled tires.  I believe the client purchased this for their father who was a big Eldorado fan.  Initially, the plan was to make a 1965 version of the car, but the client ultimately went with the 1959 version as there is a big difference in the cars.  The 1959 version has these awesome rear fins which was moderated for the 1965.  We agree the large rear fins really make the cake gorgeous, adding even additional detail to the cake.
