This stunning carriage cake was made for the occasion of a baby shower and had to feed 50 people. We were delighted to be able to play with fun colors and different textures to make something really special and unique. The cake is a traditional carriage shape with no wheels. We made the base by inter-weaving dark brown fondant strips to give a wooden look and feel. The canopy is rich and luxurious in a lavender shade with delicate pink bows working their way down the sides. A huge lavender bow sits right on the top. Inside the carriage we placed all kinds of delightful baby goodies! We have a baby bottle, blankets in different shades of pink, blocks and a lavender baby bib. On the bib we wrote the words 'Congratulations Christina and Ike' in cursive style white lettering. The carriage is placed on a white fondant base with a pink ribbon trim. A pair of booties lies on the base. They are made in a traditional burberry print pattern in a soft tan color with stripes of red and black. The booties have little tan laces which are untied. A cute little yellow ducky has fallen out of the carriage and sits on the base. He looks quite contented and happy watching the party. Inside the carriage we put a scrumptious filling of vanilla and passion fruit, and the top canopy section offered a choice of red velvet and cream cheese.
